SIZING
Normally when buying clothing online, sizing can leave the purchaser in quite a conundrum. They mostly have to resort to reviews from other customers leaving it quite difficult to make a decision. A sizing chart doesn’t quite tell you fit and feel, tailored fit, or loose fit. We have decided to approach this a different way, rather than having to take out the tape measure.
We have all the standard sizes XS-2XL however, our sizes run true to size, what this means is that if you are normally a large, large will fit you well for a trim tailored look especially when pulling in the torso cords which runs around the ribcage (cord/toggles hidden inside hand warmer pockets)
Here is what we’d recommend, if you’re looking for a trendy tailored Jason Bourne look and are in shape, for everyday streetwear, traveling, to and from work, dinner out, movies etc AND the field. Go down a size if you choose on not using the fleece liner (warmer climates), it looks good this way, especially if you cinch in the cords tailoring in around the ribcage. Remember that the fleece liner being removable increases shoulder space, if you feel that it will be too warm in your location factor this when purchasing. Removal of the liner allows for more shoulder room as well.
For reference, our model in the photos is 6’2 185lbs, trim and fit. In both the street and field photos he is wearing size medium with the fleece installed, this is one size down from him, he is usually a large. That being said, if you have broad shoulders or packing some extra calories for winter and prefer a relaxed look, go with your normal T-shirt size.
If you are fit, and plan on removing the fleece liner and never plan to use the jacket with anything bulky underneath. Drop down a size from your normal size large down to medium.
If you plan on wearing the jacket for field use only, go with your normal size this allows for good shoulder articulation especially in prone firing positions.
If you plan on wearing the jacket with fleece installed for field use and want to wear it over bulky field clothing like a combat top, go up a size from your normal size.

Excellent jacket. Very pleased. Originally ordered a medium based on the sizing suggestion on the website and found it was too small for my body type(6’2″, 180lb., tall torso, long arms), exchanged for an XL which fits great.
The small but busy team at Crossfire was very accommodating and made for an easy process.
Bottom line: another great piece of gear from Crossfire.
(Thanks guys!)

FYI for big guys with bellies, they run a bit small. I’m 6’1″ 270, 52″ chest and the 2XL fits, but snugger and shorter than I prefer, even without the liner. The snug is on me, but I like a field jacket long enough so a 2″ utility/duty belt rides nicely between the pockets. For reference, I have plenty of length and room for layers in my various 2XL British smocks.
Other than sizing, my only minor nit is a lack of attachment points in the pockets. The jacket is top quality, like everything Crossfire makes. I like that I can stash the liner in my pack to replace my grid fleece, it seems to pack down smaller and I like having the full zip and shorter collar. I also like the mesh in the liner at the pit zips…attention to detail you don’t always see in jacket liners. The color is perfect, the material is quiet and it doesn’t glow in the dark.

Extremely well thought-out garment from guys that make the most well thought-out kit. Beyond comfortable and the fit is true to size and has a well-articulated cut that moves with you, with or without the fleece liner. The pockets are roomier than they look, and this jacket is as waterproof as you can get without being three-ply goretex. The zip-in fleece liner has mesh pits so you can vent body heat from the jacket’s pit zips when you have it in. The reason why I’ve stayed away anything with zip-in liners is because I end up being in a sweat box with restricted movement. These guys have developed more than a jacket- it’s something that can replace three garments (L2 waffle top, field top, L5 softshell) with the pocket space of a smock that is pretty damn water resistant and tough but also silent & comfortable, so much that you instinctively dont want to break-brush with it, but I assure you, it can take it. If you’re sick of layering up & down in ice cold rain and feeling like you’re wearing 4 jackets made out of cardboard and tinfoil that stay soaked and still dont have enough pockets- this is for you.
