This is a militarised and ruggedised internal frame hiking pack for a military client. I’ve found the DG-3 is a surprisingly interesting pack. It is envisaged that the DG-3 will suffice for almost all possible infantry operations in a variety of environments..

  2. 22F

I’ve been using my DG-3 for a couple of years now. I find the harness one of the most comfortable I’ve encountered. In short, I am impressed with my DG-3. A very comfortable and flexible design. With the way that the pack sits on my body, there is sufficient clearance to allow for air flow across the back. Fills the niche for shorter range treks, such as general walking trips overnight or no more than a couple of day’s duration. The size of the pack without external pouches fitted is good for leaving on and manoeuvring in relatively tight spaces. I was able to still sit in a normal dining room chair with chest webbing and loaded pack (sans pouches) on.

  3. Mors Kochanski

    Monster of a pack.

  4. DJ

    Good pack.

  5. Jacko

A very comfortable pack with plenty of space. I put four large platatac pouches on the outside to set it out like an sas mk6 and it worked quite well.

  6. Johnny Chimpo

I’ve had my crossfire DG3 for years and it hasn’t missed a beat. I’ve also been a fan of the peacekeeper boots in the past too. Thanks guys!

  7. RB_One

At first this pack seems very complex. But luckily for all our 11B readers, it comes fully assembled as a external frame pack. But I can just encourage you to disassemble the pack to really tailor it to your body.

  8. Wheelsee

The genius part (IMHO) is the ability to unzip, providing rapid access to contents, even those at the bottom of the pack.

  9. Mal Howie

DG3 is great. Options with the Molle could suit any job requirement. Current issued pack is way too big in my opinion.

  10. Antoni J

Excited about my new purchase is an understatement. The DG3 backpack by Crossfire Australia with the ability to remove the external pack frame and various interchangeable/removable internal pockets this thing will see a lot of use.

  11. James Young

I have a Crossfire DG3 as my main hiking pack. Great bit of kit.

  12. Werksven

Bloody good quality and nice design!!!

  13. Diz

This pack is my go-to ruck for use with a belt kit

  14. RBOne

Outstanding Patrol Pack. Best Frame on the market and the 55l capacity really fills a gap!

  15. jasonwatts8596

Best kit going! I’ve still got my oldschool DG-8 SF too which is going strong

  16. Delta Operator

    Truly Awesome pack

  17. Antoni Jagielka

After getting the DG3 and loving it I’ve decided I’m getting the full Crossfire DG range

  18. Mark

A stunningly good backpack. I’ve also had a DG6 for the past 10 years and it’s still going.

  19. Mark Willetts

With either the external or internal frame this is an awesome pack. I was surprised at how good the pack feels in either configuration – I expected some compromise when I swapped out the external frame, but there was none.

  20. Bill Robertson

I highly recommend Crossfire products. First heard about them on LF. I have the DG3 and it is outstanding quality. If I was a bit taller, and younger, I would definitely pick up a DG16. Especially, with the unbelievable price on it in DPCU.

  21. Dan Cor

Great packs, far better than issue.

  22. Matt Reid

I bought this pack a little over a fortnight ago and am absolutely blown away with it. Such a great size and puts the current Australian Army amcu issue medium (72 hr pack) to shame. No load is too big or too small as the pack can be sinched right down for smaller / lighter loads.

Currently running with the external frame and I could not be happier. Especially with all the accessories that were included.

  23. Nic

This pack is perfect for a few days out field, even up to a week. You can fit almost an entire marching order plus a day pack into this. Then chuck some pouches on and you can fit your rats too. Oh and it’s super comfortable and ergonomic and narrow. Sits snug on your back. Couldn’t be happier.

  24. feralanimalcontrol

Brilliant pack for hunting – especially for carrying out the harvest/ or a cape.

  25. pr_hightower

The BEST rucks ever made! ❤️

  26. warhoggtactical

    I absolutely love mine!!

  27. Grzegorz

Mine arrived today. Great piece of kit. I took it out to the local woods today just to make sure all adjustments were done correctly and that there is no unwanted friction anywhere. I am so stoked. Thank you very much. I am joining army of happy customers.

  28. Simpon Steele

Sensational build quality and form fit adjustment, easy load / unload design , rock solid 3 day choice.

  29. Scott Perry

First time out with Crossfire DG-3, its a 55 liter, 3 day pack. Not a lot of hype or press, so I bought it based on a few videos out there and price. It is great quality, reasonably priced and more importantly, the DG-3 has the best suspension in a bag of this type. I have MR, Arcteryx, TAD, Savotta, Granite Gear, Med. ALICE, Med. MOLLE, etc. for comparison.

  30. Manny Peralta

I use the 3-day DG-3 as a “day pack” for carrying gear for 2 people on short 1-day rucks/hike (my son and I). It’s innovative pelvic/shoulder/lumbar harnessing/padding adjustment system, pockets, internal “lost arrow” attached bags and inside compartment space alone, allows you a variety of options to adjust load to use the DG-3 as a 2-person day pack, especially useful in steep slope rock-scrambling over granite boulders to summit hike or bugout downhill at a safe ruck speed after being caught in severe weather, winds 50+ gusting! 500 Cordura is stain-resistant ; wipe off with damp cloth. Hard-wearing, it’s not easily caught by twigs and branches stomping through bush. My colour pick, MC by choice as I personally thinks its more forgiving, not showing wear and tear as much. DG-1 + DG-3 rucks = great choice for 2 person 1 day hike.

I got one of these recently and it’s a nice bit of kit. Very tough and hard wearing. The external frame allows it to comfortably carry far more weight than others. It’s built to carry serious weight. I see a lot of people want to compare this to the Rush 72 which is more of an oversized daysack with loads of organisation pockets. The DG3 is a different kind of pack. It’s much more versatile.

  32. Ray

I have a DG3 55 litre in olive drab. Best military pack I’ve ever had.

  33. Felix Desouzer

I’m extremely impressed with this pack, better than tactailor, paladin and every other pack I’ve used and abused both on and off ops.

  34. Ks Gn

    Awesome bag!!! Love mine

  35. bobbyz

Great product. Load and stress bearing beyond reason.

  36. Jon W

Just got mine in the mail today … couldn’t be more pleased with it. Tons of room for everything and then some.

  37. Franco G

Received my 55ltr pack and what a fantastic piece of kit! 100% the best military rucksack I’ve ever worked with. Respect to everyone involved in its concept and design.

  38. CW

    I have the DG3 and I can’t fault it.

  39. NB

Probably the most perfect 1-3 day hunting pack made. Especially if you add the Mule Load Carrying Attachment for carrying out your meat.

We wil be utilising them this season on our VHA trips.

  40. Chris

Had my DG3 for a few weeks and it looks to have about the same volume as my Kifaru Zulu G2, which has/had been my favourite pack. Loving it. Loving the front zipper. Loving the pockets. I’ve decided to kit it out with 3 FILBE sustainment pouches, and a multicam MOLLE waist pack secured to the bottom that contains my basha and cordage. A very well designed patrol pack.

  41. Mark Lund

Best pack I’ve ever used hands down! Wasted literally thousands of dollars over the years on Bad fitting packs. Crossfire packs fit perfectly and allow you to carry heavy loads without any discomfort. The staff at Crossfire go above and beyond when it comes to service, can’t thank them enough for their help.

  42. K G

Well designed bag with ability to pack all your gear for any occasions.

  43. Noell Bishop

I have a DG3 and it is the best pack I have ever put on my back.

  44. Ky Lane

The last pack I’ll ever need. Does it all. Comfiest load I’ve had to carry, ever. Long hikes, climbing, scrambling, creek stomping – all done without feeling like the load I was carrying was adding to the difficulty of the terrain. Did a hike I’ve done before and finished a mess, and felt so much easier with this pack.

  45. Sam S

Well designed bag with ability to pack all your gear for any occasions.

  46. Noell Bishop

Im increasing weight on my DG3 and right now it does very well at 45lbs. It can take a lot more, Im just old. The DG16 would be a great winter pack if you are in an extremely cold environment and out there for a while. Im in N. Alabama and the DG3 works for the most part, all year around. I like the fact that Crossfire puts a lot of MOLLIE on the outside so you can add more to it if you need to.

  47. V J

This pack is ahead of the game

  48. Luc S

Probably the Best 3 days backpack in the world!

  49. Nigel B

Probably the most perfect 1-3 day hunting pack made. Especially if you add the Mule Load Carrying Attachment for carrying out your meat.

We wil be utilising them this season on our VHA trips.

  50. Daniel Kappler

I have the dg3. I love it. I wish I had it back in my infantry days. It allows you to move so much better. I am building it up for a hunting pack now. You will not regret buying this pack.

  51. Steve Marshall

I have the DG1, DG3 and DG16. All three packs work great. Only things I would like to see is a removable Beavertail on the DG1 and removable / interchangeable lids on the DG3. Crossfire said they have mods in the pipe. There is one other issue I found with the DG3 is the water bottle pockets on the sides suck when the ruck is full. I added HPG canteen pouches and they fixed that.

  52. Rhino Kel

DG3 is the bomb. Best 3+ Day pack I’ve ever used.

  53. ‎Rich Grump

Love mine. Recently Rucked the Army 10 miler total weight 52.5 pounds 2 hr 17min.

  54. Francis Frey

I bought his pack because I had picked up a DG2 secondhand (incomplete) a while back and was impressed by the rugged construction. wow what can I say? the construction is top shelf and unmatched to anything I’ve seen. The customising ability is amazing & easy; hence the comfort level in use is metaphorically like pure silk boxers. I doubt there is a better short-term bug-out bag on the market. This is worth every cent paid, without any doubt. If anyone is considering this product I sincerely suggest you do so for your benefit. Now I am saving for thee long range patrol pack. service & delivery was extremely prompt. I love this company, a pleasure to support. thanks Crossfire!

  55. Eugene Meany

I have purchased this pack for my 12 year old daughter to use on Scout hikes. It adjusts down to suit and she cannot believe the difference the hip belt makes for reducing the apparent weight. This has boosted her confidence in being able to tackle her first 3 day hike. Highly recommended for those that have their life ahead of them and don’t want a bad back as the external frame is very comfortable and forgiving. I will be showing it to our regional outdoor activities team. Highly recommended for Duke of Edinburgh and Cadet adventure training too.

  56. Josh

    Top kit!

  57. SW

Madly in love with my DG3! The son needs one now!

  58. SS

DG3 is an awesome bag. Great versatility where it can be fairly compact or expanded and also internally framed or externally framed. Very comfortable and stable.

  59. Donny Lim

I purchased this pack online and I guess you can say that it was a lucky find. When I decided to give the DG3 Wildcat a go, I was completely smitten right from the beginning. I still am, even after nearly a year on. It’s tonka tough and packs a ton of features. I am confident this pack will see me through more than a decade of use and abuse. I absolutely love it. So glad I came across it. And to think I was close to buying one of those hiking pack that I know will rip and tear with my kind of treatment.

You know what the best thing about it guys ? It also comes with amazing and sincere customer care! Many many to the CF team for their support.

  60. FD

Hi CF I have a problem over here. Received my DG-3 today and now I can’t even look at my other packs. How do I deal with it?

  61. Sam Sanden

Just got my DG3 in the mail today! Very stoked!

  62. FR

Crossfire DG3, finally a good backpack.

  63. AS

I have just started using this backpack, but since the first time I tried it out I had very good impressions. I must take my time to adjust it properly.

  64. Joseph F.

I purchased the DG3 Coyote, fixed lid, a few months ago. There was a slight error with my order and “Mike” squared it away very efficiently. Squared away customer service, real easy guy to talk to, and he KNOWS these rucks and what is expected of them. First test for my DG3 with a combat load was the Bataan Death March 26.2 miler, so that I could get a feel for the ruck. Once property adjusted (I rolled with external frame), I had zero issues. Stress on the shoulders and traps were minimal, the hip pads did not rub or pinch at all during the ruck, and the load out was easy to balance. For operational use, I use a waterproof bag for the bulk of my gear, the interior flap pockets work awesome for extra mags, first aid, and quick access. The lid pockets are on point. I can’t speak highly enough about this ruck.

What can I say about this pack that hasn’t already been said! It is one of most amazing packs I have ever purchased, used, and abused. I have used my DG-3 on several hikes ranging from extended day hikes all the way up to a 4 day outing and it performed phenomenally! Crossfire Packs are definitely one of Australia’s best kept secrets and I am doing my vest to spread the good word about you guys over here in the U.S. Keep up the amazing work and I hope to have the whole collection one day! Already have the DG-1 as well. Looking to get to the DG-16 and MKVII too!
